Alejandro L. Lozano
Alejandro L. Lozano, 81, Fort Wayne, formerly of Milford, entered into eternal rest with the Lord March 10, 2016, at Coventry Meadows, Fort Wayne.
He was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Edcouch, Texas, to Jose Angel and Romona Linares Lozano as one of 12 children. On April 17, 1959, he married Marie Soccorro Flores, who survives. They were married 57 years.
In 1959, Alex and Maria moved to Milford, where they raised their five children.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958 aboard the USS Orion. He retired from the Dalton Foundry as an electrician in 1998 and he was a proud member of the United Steel Workers of America. Alex and Maria also were parishioners of St. Martin De Porres, Syracuse, for 30 years.
He also will be missed by his five children: Diana Smith, Rocky Lozano, Sandra Darr, Alex Lozano, Erika Lozano-Buhl; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and six siblings: Nick Lozano, Mike Lozano, Beatrice Vasquez, Francis Ruiz, Eva Noriega and Connie Galvan.
A mass was held at 11 a.m., March 14, at St. Martin De Porres, Syracuse, with Father Richard Hire officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas.
The family requests that donations be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Fort Wayne.
Mishler Funeral Homes is in charge of assisting the family with arrangements.
