Coburn’s Arrest Stems From Bar Fight
SYRACUSE — A fight at Duffy’s Pub & Grub, Syracuse, on Feb. 9, resulted in charges being filed against Jeremy L. Coburn, 36, 6731 W. Maple St., Kimmell.
Coburn was booked in the county jail at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, March 13. He has been charged with battery, causing moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
Court documents show at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, police responded to a fight at Duffy’s Pub & Grub, Syracuse, where police observed Jeffrey Young lying on the floor unconscious.
Speaking with individuals at the scene, police learned Young was inappropriately touching the bartender and was told to stop. Young then placed his hands around the throat of the individual who had asked him to stop the inappropriate behavior. Out of self-defense, the man responded by hitting Young, knocking him unconscious to the floor. Coburn then struck Young on the head with a beer bottle.
Young suffered cuts to the head and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. He told police he did not remember anything regarding to the incident.
Coburn is being held on $5,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
