Grace Releases NCCAA Tournament Brackets
WINONA LAKE – It’s that time of year again, when the word ‘bracket’ becomes a household term for a few weeks. In Winona Lake, brackets will signify the playing of the 2016 NCCAA Men’s and Women’s Division I National Championships this coming week on the campus of Grace College.
The tournament games begin on Wednesday, March 16, with eight games on the schedule for the first day of the tournament. The tournaments conclude on Saturday, March 19, with the women’s championship game scheduled for 2 p.m. and the men’s championship at 5 p.m.
The Grace College men’s program earned the No. 4 seed and will play the No. 5 seed Alice Lloyd College (KY) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16. The Parade of Champions ceremony where all 16 participating teams are introduced will be held at 7:00 p.m. before the Grace men’s game.
Former NBA and Notre Dame standout Luke Zeller will be the 2016 banquet speaker for the National Championships next Tuesday night at Warsaw Community Church. Zeller, Indiana’s Mr. Basketball out of Washington High School, had a standout career at Notre Dame before going on to the NBA. Zeller may be best known in the state for hitting the three-quarter-court buzzer-beater to stun Plymouth in 2005 IHSAA boys basketball state finals.
Tickets are available to hear Zeller speak by attending the tournament banquet. Please contact the Grace College Athletic office at (574) 372-5100 ext. 6266 to reserve your tickets for the banquet.
