Indiana Department Of Transportation Awards US 33 Realignment Contract
GOSHEN — The Indiana Department of Transportation recently awarded an $18.9 million contract to Rieth-Riley Construction to realign U.S. 33 through the City of Goshen.
The project will re-route U.S. 33 around the downtown historic district and will include bridges over the railroad tracks, over Lincoln Avenue and over Cottage Avenue. Work will also include the widening of U.S. 33/Pike Street from S.R. 15/Third Street to the Elkhart River.
Drivers will continue to travel along the existing roadway until the new sections of U.S. 33 open to traffic. The project is anticipated to be complete in fall of 2018.
