Washington Woman’s Dying Wish Is Her Three Dogs Get Adopted Together
SEATTLE — A Washington state woman facing terminal lung cancer is desperately trying to find a home for her three dogs, dubbed the “Aussie Posse.”
Kathleen Zuidema posted a photo of the dogs to her Facebook page on Saturday, March 5. She says her cancer has spread and even if her chemotherapy helps, doctors say it can only extend her life by a few months.
“This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. My heart is breaking and I’m sobbing as I write this,” she wrote.
“As a lot of you know I have been fighting cancer for about a year and a half and things are now progressing to the point where I need to secure a home for the posse,” she went on.
“They are a package deal. It is a huge thing to ask of one person but the thought of them being separated is more than l can bear.”
Zuidema lives on San Juan Island in Washington state. She hopes another islander can adopt the dogs, who are named Autumn Moon, Moka Luka and Finnegan.
“They have always been with me 24/7. So someone who can be with them a lot would be my wish. They are wonderful to be with the love they give and joy that they bring me every day has been unbelievable.”
