Leona G. Hochstetler
Leona G. Hochstetler, 84, Milford, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Elkhart Hospice House, where she had been a patient since March 3, after a sudden illness. She was born March 3, 1932, in Wyatt, to Robert and Nora (Enders) Kamp. On May 13, 1950, she married Howard Hochstetler.
Leona was a homemaker and had worked at several local businesses. Her first job was working in the Mint fields for $5. She had then worked at TV Time Popcorn and Bornemon Products.
Mrs. Hochstetler is survived by her husband: Howard; sons: Rex (Carri) Hochstetler, Nappanee; Russell (Debbie) Hochstetler, South Bend; grandchildren: Mikel (Kim) Hochstetler, St. Joseph, Mich.; Joe (Amber) Hochstetler, Goshen; Nicolas Hochstetler, Elkhart; great-grandchildren: Alexander and Mason Hochstetler; Ellie Hochstetler; Alex Hochstetler; sisters: Pauline Pittman; Mary (Frances) Sheets, both of Bremen; and Roberta Botset, Nappanee. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Anne (Hochstetler) Valdez; brother and sister-in-law: Daniel and Mary Kamp; and brother-in-law: Charlie Pittman and Elmore Botset.
By her request, Leona has been cremated. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life and time of sharing memories from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart Hospice House or American Brain Tumor Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
