Steven K. “Steve” Hampton, 64, Plymouth, died at 8:13 p.m. Friday, March 4, in Shady Rest Home, Plymouth.

He was born Sept. 11, 1951, in Hastings, Mich., to Kenneth G. and Bonnie Lou (Singleton) Hampton.

He graduated from Oak Hill High School, Swayzee in 1969. He loved music, enjoyed playing the guitar and being with family and friends.

He is survived by his father and stepmother: Kenneth and Charlene Hampton, Warsaw; one sister: Joni L. (Donald Novick) Hampton, Charlotte, N.C.; five brothers: Douglas (Cindy) Hampton, Warsaw; Matthew Hampton, Chicago, Ill.; Mark (Sarah) Hampton, Portland, Maine; Kenneth (Susan) Hampton II, Sanford, Maine; and Daniel H. (Katy) Hampton, Warsaw; one half-sister: Christy Daniels, Warsaw; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Bonnie Hampton on May 31, 1987.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
