UPDATE: Accident At US 6 And CR 29
SYRACUSE — A driver from Orland was taken to IU Health Goshen as a result of a two-vehicle accident at US 6 and CR 29, north of Syracuse. The accident occurred at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday, March 2.
Vera Maust, 63, Orland, complained of pain to the head and shoulder.
Elkhart County Police report Dale Beer, 69, Elkhart, was northbound on CR 29, in a 1997 GMC Sierra. He stopped for the intersection, but failed to yield to a 2000 Buick LaSabre, westbound on US 6. The Buick was driven by Maust. The Beer vehicle struck the rear driver side of the Maust vehicle.
Beer was cited for failure to yield to through traffic.
New Paris Fire Department, Jackson Township EMS responded to the scene with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.
This intersection has been the location of many accidents in the past. An overpass for CR 29 will be constructed, and preparations have already begun.
