Female Arrested On Drug Charges
WARSAW — Police have arrested a Warsaw woman after finding two subjects unresponsive inside of a vehicle.
Kaytlin Elline Brubaker, 24, 3484 N. CR 100E, Warsaw, was arrested on charges of possession of a narcotic and possession for two or more chemical reagents or precursors with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, both level 6 felonies; and operating while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor.
According to court documents, Dec. 21, 2015, Warsaw Police Officer Gordon Allen noticed the motor running on the vehicle in the CVS parking lot. The female driver, later identified as Brubaker and male passenger, later identified as Brandon Mettler, were both unresponsive. Mettler was exhibiting signs related to heroin influence.
Allen noticed a Mountain Dew can with the bottom cut off and a box of pseudoephedrine in the vehicle.
Allen was able to speak with Mittler, whom he removed from the vehicle. Allen searched the male’s pockets and found a butane lighter, a glass smoking pipe and $4,000 cash.
Officers also spoke to Brubaker, who was also exhibiting signs of being under the influence of a drug. She admitted to having used heroin two hours previously and twice per day for the preceding two weeks.
Officers used a K-9 to conduct a search around the outside of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted and officers searched the vehicle, finding pseudoephedrine, sodium hydroxide drain cleaner and the Mountain Dew can containing a brown residue that field tested positive for heroin.
Mettler admitted to being addicted to heroin. He also told officers he intended to trade the pseudoephedrine for methamphetamine, which he said he used when he was coming off of heroin.
Brubaker was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital and tested positive for morphine and codeine.
Brubaker is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $5,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
