John Michael Van Curen
John Michael Van Curen, Mentone, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw, at the age of 71.
He worked as a machinist for over 30 years at Chore Time Brock International in Milford. John had attended Nazarene Bible College for a number of years in Colorado Springs, Colo. and he was a member of Warsaw Family Worship Center.
John was born on March 22, 1944, in Warsaw, to Wilbur Van Curen and Bernice (Baker) Van Curen. On June 10, 1994, he was married to Susan Kay (Norton) Van Curen, who survives in Mentone.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter: Joanna M. Van Curen, Warsaw; son: Timothy Van Curen, Warsaw; three stepdaughters: Joan (Roger) Scott, Rochester; Tammy Jasso, Plymouth; Melinda (Todd) Carter, Burket; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters: Wilberta (Steve) Banghart, Warsaw; Joyce (Bill) McBroom, Milford; his brother: Phillip (Carol) Van Curen, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Russell Van Curen; and his sister: Sue Banghart.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, and officiated by Pastor William Whitaker, and assisted by Pastor Keith Cole. Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorial donations in John’s name may be directed to Warsaw Family Worship Center, Warsaw, and would be appreciated by the family.
