Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8:39 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, West CR 1100N, east of North CR 725W, Nappanee. Driver: Rebecca J. Shaw, 34, North CR 100E, Milford. Shaw was backing from a driveway and backed into a deep water filled ditch, rolling over as it fell into the ditch, immersed and upside down. The vehicle was recovered from the ditch and Shaw was taken to a neighboring home before police arrived. Damage up to $25,000.
5:21 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, West CR 950S, east of South CR 450W, Silver Lake. Driver: Kathy L. Wagoner, 52, South CR 600W, Silver Lake. Wagoner over corrected her vehicle after crossing the center line, went off the road and struck a fence. Damage up to $2,500.
7:25 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, North CR 300E, north of East CR 900N, Milford. Driver: Nicholas J. LeCount, 17, North CR 400W, Milford, and Tori N. Lambright, 20, North Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse. LeCount’s vehicle struck the Lambright vehicle possibly due to the vehicle being pulled toward the Lambright vehicle due to ice/snow at the intersection. Damage up to $5,000.
4:47 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, North Bishop Road, north of Eli Lilly Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Duane R. Allen, 48, North East Wawasee Drive, Syracuse, and Terry L. Stump, 58, North Shore Lane, Syracuse. Allen’s vehicle struck the back of the Stump vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
2:53 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, North CR 300E, north of East 900N, Milford. Vehicle registered to Angela E. Hough, EMS D18 Lane, Syracuse. Hough’s vehicle was northbound on CR 300E, became caught in the snow, which pulled her into the ditch and into a wire fence. No one around the vehicle while officers were present. Wrecker service contacted. Damage up to $2,500.
North Webster
Officers with North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
3:03 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, East Camelot Lane and Alley behind Pilcher’s, North Webster. Driver: Justin M. Gibson, 28, CR 30, Goshen. Gibson’s vehicle struck a sign after leaving Simmelators. He was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
3:17 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, North SR 15, north of West CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Bart L. Holle, 56, Alward Street, Warsaw, and Lois M. Borkholder, 38, North CR 400W, Milford. Holle applied the brakes on his vehicle but could not slow down in time to avoid hitting the back of the Borkholder vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
