WARSAW — A female passenger, in a Ford Freestyle, was transported to Kosciusko County Hospital following a two-vehicle accident on SR 15, north of CR 300S, Warsaw. The accident occurred at 3:27 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Rebecca D. Hatfield, 53, West Union Street, Claypool, complained of pain to her shoulder/upper arm. Hatfield, who is wheelchair bound, was thrown out of her wheelchair during the crash. The rear doors of the van were stuck shut after the crash and Warsaw-Wayne Firefighters helped to remove her from the van.

David A. Chew, 39, East Walnut Street, Claypool, was northbound on SR 15, north of CR 300S, in a 2000 Ford Windstar when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow/slush covered roadway. Chew’s vehicle slid into the path of a southbound 2004 Ford Freestyle. The Freestyle was driven by Jeffery A. Hatfield, 52, West Union Street, Claypool.

The two vehicles hit head on. Chew’s vehicle then slid into the east ditch and Hatfield’s vehicle slide into the west ditch.

Damage was estimated up to $25,000.
