MILFORD — Programs, story time, club meetings are among offerings occurring next week at Milford Public Library.
Balance and Stability Program
Join us this Monday, Feb. 29, for a Balance and Stability Program presented by Tami Pavel, certified personal trainer at Lakeside Fitness, as part of our adult reading program. Everyone is invited to attend. Pavel will be presenting the program in our meeting room at 6:30 p.m. Come ready to learn from Pavel about improving your balance and coordination, proper posture and breathing, and core muscle strength and stability. Sign up at the adult circulation desk. This is a free program.
Preschool Winter Story Time
Skiing, figure skating, and snowboarding are just a few popular winter sports. Come to story time and listen to several great stories about winter sports with staff at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, or 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3.
Preschool story time is for children ages 3-6. We will read “Little Red Gliding Hood,” by Tara Lazar, “Red Sled,” by Lita Judge and “Snowy Sports: Ready, Set, Play!,” by Per-Henrik Gürth. After listening to stories, get ready to decorate and lace up a pair of paper skates, and enjoy a rice krispy treat for snack. See you there.
Afternoon Knitting Club
Knitting Club meets from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, in the teen area of the library. Bring a knitting project and get help from experienced knitters. Learn how to knit or continue working on a current project.
Adult Reading Club
Adults age 18 and up can register to participate in our annual adult reading program. Stop by the adult circulation desk for program information. For each book you read, or book-on-compact disk you listen to, you can put your name in for a chance to win some fabulous prizes.
Each Friday, the library will draw a name out of the bowl, and that person will win a prize. Prizes are donated by local sponsors and will be displayed prior to being given away. The program ends on Thursday, March 31.
Our recent arrivals include: “How to Bake Pi” by Eugenia Cheng; “Taste of Home- Simple Easy Fast Slow Cooker” “Death of a Nurse: A Hamish Macbeth Mystery” by M.C. Beaton and “After She’s Gone” by Lisa Jackson in large print. Stop by the library and browse our new books display.
