Spiritual Reader Opening On Center Street
WARSAW — A request by a resident to open a spiritual reading business in her home on East Center Street, was unanimously approved by the Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals Monday evening, Feb. 22.
Tillie Rich, 1514 E. Center St., petitioned the commission for a home occupation special exception. Rich will offer palm and tarot card readings, chakra cleansings and chakra healings, consultation one on one, where people can come and get a psychic reading of his/her past, present and future. Her training has been handed down from generation to generation. Services will be by appointment only.
Tim Dombrosky, assistant city planner, recommended the approval. “The Center Street Corridor is designed to handle the traffic,” he noted adding there will not be intense commercial use, it is a one person, consulting occupation with parking the rear and no additional employees. No remonstrance against the home occupation was received.
Rich also requested permission to install a three-foot by 4-foot free standing sign in the yard, similar to the sign previously on the property. The sign will be lit by LED yard lights. A real estate office formerly was located at the address.
Rich addressed the commission noting her living quarters will be on the second floor with her business on the main floor. She stated there will be no outside storage, no deliveries, or excessive traffic.
The next meeting of the BZA will be at 7 p.m. March 28.
