Winter Weather Expected To Return
NORTHERN INDIANA — The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana has issued a hazardous weather outlook for most of Northern Indiana at 5:05 p.m. this evening.
While no hazardous weather is expected tonight and during the day on Tuesday, there is a chance of snow late Tuesday night across far Northern Indiana, extreme Northwest Ohio and Southern lower Michigan. Parts of Michigan have been placed in a winter storm watch.
Rain, or a mix of rain and snow will change to all snow from west to east Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening and continue into Thursday. Accumulating snow is expected during this period. Confidence in snow amounts remain low due to uncertainty in the timing of the changeover of rain to snow and in the exact track of the system.
North to northwest wind guests of 35 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour are possible Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the forecast, at this point, the National Weather Service is calling for a chance of rain and snow before 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, then a chance of rain between 3-4 a.m. with a chance of snow after 4 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
On Wednesday rain and snow is predicted before 9 a.m. with rain between 9-11 a.m. and a mix of rain and snow after 11 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch is possible.
Wednesday evening, blustery weather, with a north wind of 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph are possible. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent and the new snow accumulation of 2-4 inches is possible.
