Frank Hurd
Frank Hurd, 63, Warsaw, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, in his residence.
On Jan. 31, 1952, he was born in Estel, Ky. to Frank and Marie (Shepherd) Hurd Sr. He was united in marriage to Linda Hyden in 1991 in Warsaw, who survives. Living most of his life in Warsaw, Frank worked as a lead man on a set up crew for Gatke Corporation for ten years. He was also a member of God’s Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Hurd, Warsaw; five children: Darwin Hurd, Warsaw; Mary (Pat) Burleson, Etna Green; Penny (David) Blake, Warsaw; Richard (Faith) Hurd, Seattle, Wash.; Elinor Hurd, Warsaw; three stepchildren: James Glant III, Mishawaka; Wendy Marie Bartley, Pikesville, Ky.; Anna Sue Perry, Warsaw; five sisters: Lorraine Wussles; Margaret (Barry) Benson; Pauline (Ron) Anderson; Doralee (Mike) Buell; and Mary Sue Bradley; one brother: Jim Hurd; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Darwin Hurd.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, in God’s Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw, with Reverend Bob Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with military honors by the American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1196. Visitation hours will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the church.
