LCA Pulls Off OT Win
SOUTH BEND – Josh McDaniel was the hero Tuesday night for Lakeland Christian, nailing a shot with one second left in overtime to lift the Cougars to a 56-55 boys basketball win at South Bend Community Baptist.
McDaniel, who finished with 14 points and three assists, got the ball to Carter Twombly to nail a shot in regulation, sending the game into overtime. Twombly had a big night as well, scoring 13 points to go with six rebounds and three steals.
Landon Twombly scored 11 points, Jon Harmon had four points, nine boards, four steals and three assists, and Jake Harmon chipped in eight points.
The Cougars rallied from down four heading into the fourth quarter to outscore Baptist 14-10 in the fourth, with McDaniel scoring seven of his 14 in the overtime period.
Daniel Endres paced Baptist with 18 points, Alex Paczebny added 14 points and Sean Carroll chipped in 12 points.
Community Baptist won the JV game over LCA 39-23.
LCA, winners of two straight, move to 3-18 overall with a pair of home games left on the schedule. The Cougars will host Oregon-Davis Thursday and finish up the regular season next Tuesday against Howe Military.
