ELKHART COUNTY — The Elkhart County 4-H Beef Club has set the Animal ID date for the 2016 4-H year Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Shipshewana Auction Barn. The auction board is located on SR 5. Animals will be ID’d between 9 a.m. and noon.
In order for animals to be eligible to show at the 2016 Elkhart County 4-H Fair and the Indiana State Fair, the animals will need to be tagged and identified. Animals will also have to be enrolled in the data management system at 4-H Online.
This is the same website used for 4-H youth enrollment. Beef animals cannot be ID’d until the youth are properly enrolled in the 4-H program.
To enroll in 4-H and learn more about the projects and opportunities that 4-H offers, please go to the Purdue Extension Elkhart County website at the Purdue Extension.
