Betty J. Lewallen
Betty J. Lewallen, 86, North Webster, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at her home.
She was born June 13, 1929, in Warsaw to Delbert & Glea (Rider) East.
She grew up in the Warsaw/Mentone area and graduated in 1947 from Mentone High School. She was married April 26, 1947, in Warsaw to Jack A. Lewallen and they lived their married life in North Webster. Jack preceded her Jan. 28, 1991.
She retired in 2003 as an administrative assistant from Zimmer Corporation, Warsaw, after 24 years and was the former co-owner operator of Jack’s Village Video, Syracuse, for 12 years. She formerly worked at Webster Products, North Webster, and Liberty Homes, Syracuse.
She was a member of the Church of God, North Webster, where she was part of the Ladies in Action and the Just Older Youth senior group. She was formerly a member of the Efficient Homemakers Economics Club, North Webster, and was an avid walker at the North Webster Community Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela J. (Dan) Conder, Cicero; two sons: Michael E. (Lana) Lewallen, Spring Hill, Fla., and Randy K. (Sharon Barefoot) Lewallen,North Webster; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine East, Warsaw; and a brother, Harold (Sharon) East, Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Jack Lewallen Jr.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
