Vikings Whip Warriors
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team rolled past North Miami 74-33 Friday night.
The 1-2 punch of Brandon Webster and Alec Craig led the way as the host Vikings routed the Warriors in the Three Rivers Conference contest.
Webster scored a game-high 17 points and Craig added 16 as the Vikings improved to 7-12 overall and moved to 5-4 in league play.
Valley led 24-12 after the opening period and 39-17 at halftime in dominating the contest.
Neil Clampitt had nine points and Trevor Neely eight for Valley. Gavin Bussard added seven points. Craig and Clampitt each had five rebounds for the winners.
Valley shots 29-56 overall from the field, including 8-20 from distance in the win.
North Miami, which falls to 1-18 with its eighth straight loss, shot just 12-38 overall from the field and had 22 turnovers.
Jeff Eckrote led the Warriors, who are now 0-8 in the TRC, with 12 points.
Valley won the junior varsity game 53-23 to improve to 9-10 on the season.
Valley plays at Culver Tuesday night. North Miami plays at Oak Hill Saturday night.
