Grace Track Team Sets Two Records
UPLAND, Ind. – The Grace College track and field team competed on Saturday at the Taylor Invitational in the last race before indoor postseason.
The Lancers set two new school records and won nine events in the meet.
Jo Boren smashed Grace’s long jump record by over half a foot. The senior set a school record and won the event with a leap of 17-feet-4.25.
Katelyn McCullough ran the fastest indoor mile in team history, crossing the finish line in a time of 5:21 to win the event. McCullough won a second event for the Lady Lancers, taking the 800-meter race in 2:24.88.
Maggie Poorman also won a race for the Lady Lancers in the 400 with a time of 1:00.89.
For the men’s team, Joel Zook claimed the 400 race, and Cameron Johnson won the 200. Lance Taylor was the fastest runner in the 600, and Bennett Parker cleared 6-feet-2 to win the high jump.
