Anderson Leads Way In Triton Win
BOURBON – A strong start and a fine finish earned the Triton boys basketball team a conference win Friday night.
The host Trojans topped LaVille by a 59-47 final in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference contest.
Triton led 19-10 after the opening period and 34-20 at halftime versus the Lancers. LaVille rallied to cut the Triton lead to 38-32 at the end of the third period. The Trojans then outscored their guests 21-15 in the final frame for the 12-point win.
Jordan Anderson turned in a stellar showing to pace the winners. The senior guard canned a game-high 24 points for Triton. He hit 4-9 from distance and went 10-12 from the free throw line and also grabbed six rebounds.
Grant Johnson also had a big night for coach Jason Groves’ squad. He scored 17 points on 6-7 shooting from the field and also snared six rebounds.
Masen Yeo added 12 points for the Trojans, who improve to 13-6 overall and move to 5-2 in league play.
Triton shot 17-33 overall from the field, including 5-13 from distance. The Trojans were 20-29 from the line in the win.
Luke Beehler led LaVille with 11 points. The Lancers shot 16-40 from the field, including 6-13 on 3-pointers, and went 9-19 from the line.
LaVille drops to 12-8 overall and is now 4-3 in conference play.
Triton plays at Rochester Tuesday night. LaVille hosts Caston next Friday night.
