Father Arrested After Allowing Marijuana Use In Home
WARSAW — Dennis Langly Hall, 49, 326 N. Lake St., Warsaw, was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 2, on drug charges. He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 8:27 a.m.
Hall is charged with maintaining a common nuisance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, both level 6 felonies; and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor. Due to a November, 2014, drug offense conviction, the possession charge was enhanced to a class A misdemeanor.
The affidavit of probable cause, filed Feb. 1, in Kosciusko Circuit Court, states on Jan. 10, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Bucher went to serve a warrant on Levi Hall at his Lake Street address. Dennis Hall met Bucher at the door and stated Levi Hall is his son and both resided at the residence. While standing at the door, Bucher could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the residence. The father and son were questioned about the marijuana smell and invited Bucher inside the home, where the odor was stronger. The smell of raw marijuana could also be smelled.
Inside the home, Bucher found three juveniles who were instructed by Dennis Hall to tell police about the marijuana. One juvenile gave police a metal marijuana pipe, admitted to smoking marijuana and told police paraphernalia could be found in Levi Hall’s room. The other two juveniles admitted to smoking marijuana and would test positive if given a drug test. They were released to their parents.
Dennis Hall took Bucher upstairs to a bedroom, where Bucher observed two glass marijuana smoking pipes. In the living room, a hole in the wall was observed, containing a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy plant. A digital scale was also found. The marijuana weighed 28.1 grams. Dennis Hall and one of the juveniles advised the marijuana belonged to Levi Hall and knew the marijuana was present.
Hall is being held on a $2,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
