Francis Dean Turner
Francis Dean Turner, 80, formerly of LaFontaine, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on Aug. 15, 1935, to the late William R. and Laura (Smith) Turner in Marion.
Francis married Carol F. Tomlinson on Nov. 1, 1953, in the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Marion. Francis served his country in the United States Army. He worked at Anaconda Wire and Cable in Marion, as a production worker from 1953 until retirement in 1993, also at United Tech in Huntington, for six years.
Along with his wife: Carol; he is survived by sons: Robbie J. (Theresa) Turner, Marion; David L. (Ebbie) Turner, Andrews; Chris A. Turner, Marion; daughter: Vickie L. (Dennis) Mauro, Palmetto, Fla.; brother: Henry (Darlene) Turner, Wabash; eight grandchildren: Marlena Tann, Gas City; Joshua Mauro; Aaron Mauro, both of Palmetto, Fla.; Chad Turner, Marion; Heather Turner, Mesa, Ariz.; Bryan Turner; Bradley Turner, both of Marion; John Turner, Wabash; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: Bill Turner.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, with Ralph Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home.
