Triton Keeps Beat Going
BOURBON – Triton ran its win streak to four games Saturday night after handily defeating North Judson 66-24 in boys basketball at The Trench.
After taking just a four-point lead on the Blue Jays after eight minutes, the Trojans rattled off a 20-3 run in the second quarter to blow the game wide open. A 20-6 run to open the second half only affirmed the Triton dominance.
Masen Yeo and Jordan Anderson each led Triton with 18 points while Grant Johnson pitched in eight points. Nathan Flenar got in on the act with six points for the Trojans, which move to 11-5 overall and 3-2 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.
The win moves Jason Groves within one win of a milestone, as Groves won his 199th game. Groves is 199-63 in his 11th season at the helm for the Trojans.
North Judson (0-15, 0-6 HNAC) had Trevor Thomas hit a pair of threes to lead with six points.
Triton’s JV team won more of a contest in a 40-36 final. Adam Stevens has a big night with 12 points for the winners, Ethan Berry tossing in eight points. Caden Benson had 11 points for the Blue Jays.
Groves and Triton will go for number 200 Thursday night at home against rival Argos.
