Cougars Can’t Catch Clinton Christian
WINONA LAKE – Clinton Christian continued its strong boys basketball season with a 72-55 win Saturday at Lakeland Christian Academy.
Noah Stutzman was on fire for the Couriers, scoring 33 points and recording at least five points in each quarter. Benson Yoder chipped in 15 points and Caleb Schrock sent in nine points.
Clinton took a 27-10 lead after one quarter, only for LCA to rally within 11 points at 39-28 at the half. The Couriers would separate with a 21-8 advantage in the third quarter, helped by 12 of Stutzman’s points.
Josh McDaniel had his shooter’s touch going for the Cougars, scoring 19 points. McDaniel had three three-pointers and was 4-4 from the free throw line.
Jacob Harmon had 11 points and Noah Twombly finished with nine points for the Cougars.
The Clinton JV held off LCA in a 39-30 final.
Clinton moves to 15-5 on the season and plays at home Feb. 9 against Granger Christian. LCA is 1-16 and hosts Lakewood Park Feb. 5.
