Signups Begin For 4-H ‘Poss-Abilities’ Club
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Purdue Extension will host a Livestock Poss-Abilities Spark Club and Showcase.
This is open to any youth in grades 3-12 who are interested in learning about livestock with the 4-H program.
The capacity for participants is limited by the number of available mentor families.
The 4-H Livestock Poss-Abilities Spark Club and Showcase allows students to work one-on-one with a mentor family to become familiar with raising and handling an animal, then exhibit at the 2016 Kosciusko County Community Fair.
The cost is $20 per student and includes full enrollment as 4-H members. They will have the opportunity for additional participation beyond their livestock experience if they choose.
Students will have their choice between beef, sheep, poultry, dairy feeder steers swine, goats and rabbits.
Applications for this program are due Monday, Feb. 15. Participants will receive notification by Tuesday, March 1. Students will meet their mentor families March 29, and will have a minimum of three farm visits May through July.
The showcase is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, during the Kosciusko County 4-H Fair.
