Free Vision Screenings At Science Central
FORT WAYNE — Saturday, Jan. 30, Fort Wayne Central Lions Club will sponsor vision and youth development activities at Science Central, including free vision screenings as part of the half-price admission day.
Lions Club members will be on site to conduct vision screenings, orient visitors to what it means to be a Lion and discuss local community Lion projects.
In addition to the vision screenings, two special events are being planned. From 11-11:30 a.m., Jim Platzer, a service dog recipient, author, pilot and public speaker, will discuss the importance of service dogs.
At 1:30 p.m., Dr. Jonathan Walker will present a cow’s eye dissection and provide time for questions and answers following. Both presentations will take place in the Lincoln Financial Foundation Demonstration Theater.
Science Central will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30. Admission is $4 ages 3 and up, free to Science Central members and the Fort Wayne Central Lions Club free vision screenings will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
