SYRACUSE — The Wawasee basketball team broke an eight-game losing streak Tuesday evening.
Wawasee welcomed in Bethany Christian for the two school’s first-ever meeting on the hardwood. The Warriors scored 34 points in the first half on their way to a 65-35 throttling of the Bruins.
Superb sophomores Cayden Wegener and Trevon Coleman led Wawasee with 17 points each. Tyler Smith helped the cause with 10 points of his own while Jairus Boyer and Chase Rookstool added eight and six points, respectively.
Bethany was led by Seth Brenneman’s 15-point effort.
Wawasee will look to snap a 32-game Northern Lakes Conference losing streak Friday night when it hosts Concord.
