Barbara Joan Sylvester
Barbara Joan Sylvester, 74, Pierceton, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, in her residence.
On June 23, 1941, she was born in Pierceton to Jim and Emma Bell (Elder) Slusher. She was united in marriage to Estle Sylvester on Nov. 19, 1962, in Pierceton, who survives.
Barbara was a lifetime resident of Pierceton. She graduated from Pierceton High School, Class of 1959. She loved to bake and take care of her grandchildren, attending all of their sporting events and functions. She loved to visit the oceans and travel. She was a giving person and was a wonderful wife and a great mother and grandmother.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 53 years: Estle Sylvester, Pierceton; two children: Tim (Stacy) Sylvester, Pierceton; and Kim (Roby) Potter, Akron; five grandchildren: Austin and Micaela Sylvester; Jace Jalea; and Payton Potter; and her brother: Raymond (Betty) Slusher, Pierceton. She was preceded in death by her mom, dad, and three brothers: Dick; John; and Rex Slusher.
A Celebration of Life Service and burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to American Legion Post #258, Pierceton, or to Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund C/o K21 Health Foundation, Warsaw.
