Clara Parrett Wineland
Clara Parrett Wineland, 83, Albion, passed away at 12:38 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, with her children by her side.
Clara was born in Churubusco May 1, 1932, a daughter of Charles and Etta (Christlieb) Bunger and spent her formative years in LaOtto. Most of her adult life was spent in Columbia City and Albion. She had been employed as a cook at both Whitley County Hospital and the former Alfran Nursing Home, Columbia City.
She had been a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Columbia City, enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzle book and will long be remembered as a great cook. She loved and cherished her family and was “Mom” to a host of other people.
Surviving relatives include six daughters: Kathy Pease, Columbia City, Rhonda (Gregory) Nearhouse, Williford, Ark., Connie (Roger) Johnson, Columbia City, Monica (Jon) Triesch, Churubusco, Tina (Curt) Traxler, Albion, and Trudy (David) Miller, Churubusco; five sons: Steve (Mary) Parrett, Las Vegas, Nev., Robert Parrett, Jr., Sidney, Randy (Tamara) Parrett, Columbia City, Neil (Julie) Parrett, Fort Wayne, and Ronald (Lisa) Parrett, Sidney; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco, with Rev. Corinne Boruff-Stucker, Churubusco United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, or one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning.
Interment will be in the Swan Cemetery, north of LaOtto.
