WARSAW — Middle and high school students from all across Indiana will descend upon Warsaw Area Career Center in the Career Center Gym on Saturday, Jan. 23, for the Warsaw Robotics VEX State Qualifying Robotics Competition. The competition will start at 10 a.m. and will last most of the day.

As many as 50 teams will come together for a non-stop, action-packed day of competition where they will battle against each other with robots created from VEX EDR. Participants will square off in the game VEX Robotics Competition Nothing But Net, which is played by scoring colored balls in high and low goals and by elevating robots in a designated climbing zone. VEX Robotics Competition Nothing But Net was developed by VEX Robotics, Inc. and the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, leaders in educational and competitive robotics.

This is the second time that such a competition will be hosted at Warsaw Area Career Center. This competition is presented by the WACC Engineering/Technology Education Department. For more information please contact: Abbi Richcreek at [email protected].

The Warsaw Robotics VEX State Qualifier Robotics Competition is one in a series of tournaments supported by the REC Foundation. There are less than 20 state qualifiers that are held across Indiana. The competition season culminates each spring with the top performing teams qualifying for the State VEX Robotics Competition. At that State Vex competition is where the top teams will qualify to compete at the VEX Robotics World Championship.

At the World Championship, these exemplarily teams will have the opportunity to challenge their top-ranked peers from over 30 countries around the world, including: Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
