Look For Tags On Your Trash Cans
WARSAW — The city of Warsaw Public Works Department has purchased a new side load garbage truck. Along with this purchase the city will now be furnishing containers to the residential properties.
The containers will be available in two sizes, 64-gallon or 96-gallon. The 96-gallon container is what residents currently are using for recycling.
During the week of Jan. 25-29, city employees will be attaching yellow wire tags on one existing containers, at each residence, after emptying the containers. The public works department is requesting the resident circle the size container he would like and to write the address on the tag. This is a survey to determine how many containers, of each size, will need to be ordered.
All items for pickup must be inside the new container. Anything left outside of the new container will not be picked up. Each household will receive one new container.
The completed tags will be removed from containers the week of Feb 1-5, during regular trash pick up. Addresses without completed tags will receive the 96-gallon containers.
It will be several months before new containers arrive and issued to residents.
More information on the new containers and requirements will be announced in the upcoming months.
