Howard E. Roth
Howard E. Roth, 89, Mission, Texas, formerly of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 19, 2016.
He was born Oct. 10, 1926, in LaGrange County to Daniel W. and Susie (Miller) Roth.
On March 22, 1968, he married Carol (Stiver) Mills. She died Jan. 28, 1996. He later married Mary Ann (Gresser) Manuel in Mission, Texas, Feb. 14, 1997.
She survives in Waconia, Minn., along with his four daughters: Jane (Terry) Masters, Huntertown, Judi (Bobby) Deam, Greensboro, N.C., Karen Ballengee, Phoenix, Ariz., and Becky McKinley, North Webster; three stepsons: James Mills, Warsaw, Jeffery Mills, Goshen and Jim (Kim) Manuel, Excelsior, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Patricia Manuel, Duluth, Minn.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Claron Roth, Goshen.
Along with his parents and Carol, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Roth, and a stepdaughter, Connie Manuel.
Howard was a 1944 graduate of Topeka High School and member of First United Methodist Church. He retired from Johnson Controls in 1988 as inspector supervisor. He was also a member of the Swinging Hoosiers square dance group.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
