Washington Elementary Breaks Ground
WARSAW — By next year, Washington Elementary School students will have an improved learning environment.
Work is slated to begin in just a few weeks on the Washington Elementary School construction project and students, teachers, staff and school officials gathered Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 19, to celebrate with a ground breaking ceremony.
Despite frigid temperatures, the atmosphere was warm with anticipation as students donned hard hats and picked up shovels just their size.
According to WCS Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert, construction begins in the next couple of weeks and will initially include only outdoor portions. Indoor work will take place during breaks and in the summer when students are not in the building.
The official opening is set for Aug. 1.
