Driving School Instructor Dies After On-The-Clock Crash
LAFAYETTE — A Lafayette driving school instructor died at the hospital around 3 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, from injuries sustained in a crash that happened on the clock.
Paul L. Foster, 69, was an instructor at the All-Star Driving School. He was instructing 15-year-old Joseph William Reddock IV at the time of the crash.
The investigation found that Reddoch, a student driver and also of Lafayette, was traveling south in the left lane of US 52 South approaching CR 975E. When he slowed to make a left turn onto the road, a southbound pickup truck, driven by 24-year-old Nicholas S. Salem of Michigantown, struck the car from behind.
Foster was taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital and later died. Reddoch was taken to IU Health Arnett Hospital where he was treated and released. Salem was not injured in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
