One of the core values included in the WCS Strategic Plan is, “Giving of time, talent, and resources is vital to the well-being of the community,” and we teach this to our students. Yesterday we experienced this core value demonstrated back to WCS from this and surrounding communities after experiencing a devastating fire at our transportation department building.
First of all, our sincere gratitude to the local area fire departments, police and county sheriff departments, Red Cross and employees of the transportation department who helped directly at the scene. WCS was also embraced with an abundance of calls offering support and services from local businesses, the community and neighboring school districts. Thank you to everyone who played a part to be able to have our students back in session on Friday.
It will not soon be forgotten.
Sincerely and on behalf of WCS,
Dr. David A. Hoffert, Superintendent
