‘Midsummer’ In Midwinter At Notre Dame
SOUTH BEND — Actors From The London Stage, a five-member British company touring university campuses from Massachusetts to Hawaii, will present, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, Thursday, Jan. 21, Friday, Jan. 22, and Friday, Jan. 29, in Washington Hall at the University of Notre Dame, located in South Bend.
Love, magic, and mischief collide on a moonlit midsummer night. Actors From the London Stage present William Shakespeare’s fantastical comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. See its lovers and lunatics brought to vivid life in the spare, elegant and inventive style for which the company is renowned. Family friendly, all ages are welcome.
Founded in 1975 by Homer Swander and world-renowned actor Sir Patrick Stewart, AFTLS is an actor-driven tour de force. AFTLS’s five-member British casts — veterans of some of the most respected theatre companies in the world — visit Notre Dame and tour North America every spring and fall with their innovative five-hand staging.
Five professional British actors will play all the roles in this production. Samuel Collings, Chris Donnelly, Ffion Jolly, Patrick Moy and Claire Redcliffe.
Tickets range in price from $12 for student over the age of 18 to regular tickets at $22 and can be ordered online.
