Betty Jean Geiger, 92, formerly of Columbia City, died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, where she was a resident since October.
She was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Whitley County, a daughter of Otto and Lula (Schaper) Kuglin. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City, where she completed her education.
She was employed by United Technologies (Essex) for 15 years.
Surviving relatives include her five children: twin sons, Dale P. (Susan) Kuglin, Lexington, Ohio, and Dennis W. (LaDonna) Kuglin, Richmond; daughters: Sandra K. (Armando) Alaniz, Milford, Karen J. Wilson, Columbia City, and son, Randy Geiger, Columbia City; eight grandchildren;19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Carlington and Max Kuglin and two sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Mary Cearbaugh.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Columbia City Church of the Nazarene, Columbia City. Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the church. Arrangements are by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
