Doris ‘Jean’ Shanbeck
Doris ‘Jean’ Shanbeck, 94, Warsaw, passed away at 2:57 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1921, in Warsaw, to John Alva and Anna M. (Beatty) Bowser. She married Dale Richard Shanbeck on Oct. 16, 1939, and lived most of her life in Warsaw. She attended Warsaw High School. She was a homemaker and also worked at WalMart and Ace Hardware. She was an active member of the North Winona Church of the Brethren for 75 years. She loved to make baby quilts and playing cards, along with her dog: “Maizy”.
Doris is survived by her daughter: Sandra ‘Sandy’ Oberholtzer, Huntertown; one sister: Joan King, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband: Dale R. Shanbeck, on Jan. 4, 2002; three brothers: James Bowser, Sept. 21, 2015; John Bowser; infant brother: Donald Bowser; and three sisters: Kathryn Miller; Evelyn Kinsey; Francis Prescott.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Services will begin after visitation at 1 p.m. Pastor Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Memorials can be made to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice or North Winona Church of the Brethren.
