Patrick L. Elliott
Patrick L. Elliott, 72, of Ligonier, left Parkview Hospital to be home with The Lord Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2015 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born Jan. 6, 1943 to Henry and Arlene (Oesch) Elliott.
On Nov. 30, 1963, he married Janice Lynn Herl at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, in Salina, Kan., and together they raised their children. He was a faithful member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Along with his many years of service to the North Central Co-Op, Patrick’s other career was immersing himself in the role of Santa Claus. He helped to play that role for 40 years all over Noble County. Friends and family knew he had it in with the North Pole. His four years with the United States Air Force deepened his patriotic spirit while serving as a member of the American Legion Post 243 Honor Guard and quite the active member of the Cromwell-Kimmell Lions Club.
Patrick will be dearly missed by his wife: Janice, Cromwell; daughters: Leah Hazelton, Ligonier; Trina (Ryan) Pauley, Beavercreek, Ohio; grandchildren: Patrick (Michelle) Hazelton, Katie and Kylee Pauley, along with one great grandson Braxton Hazelton; His brother: Arthur “Junior” Iden, North Webster; sister: Patty Geiger, Kimmell.
Patrick was welcomed into everlasting life by his mother and both fathers Henry Elliott and Ralph L. Iden; sister: Connie Iden and son-in-law: Bruce Hazelton.
A Funeral Mass in honor of Patrick will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 300 Ravine Park Drive, Ligonier. Father Wilson Corzo will officiate and Deacon Stanley LeMieux. Burial will take place at Indian Village Cemetery in Cromwell.
Family and friends will be received in the church from 2-6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, with a Rosary to be said at 7 p.m. and received from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday and prior to the Mass of Christian Funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Cromwell-Kimmell Lions Club, the American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier, and/or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ligonier.
