Elma L. Swihart
Elma L. Swihart, 88, Auburn, and formerly of Silver Lake, died at 6:01 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
She was born on June 8, 1927, in Fulton County, to Cary H. and Lucile (King) Funk. She was formerly married to Leroy F. Swihart, he preceded on Dec. 7, 2007. Elma was a homemaker and helped look after the elderly. She was a long time attendee of the Silver Creek Church of God.
Elma is survived by her daughters: Patty Bumgardner, North Manchester; Linda (Tony) Ramsey, Warsaw; sons: David L. (Cassie) Swihart, Silver Lake; Randy J. (Dr. Colleen Quinn) Swihart, Columbia City; Michael R. (Ronda Clevenger) Swihart, Silver Lake; Eric H. (Vickie) Swihart, Auburn; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters: Isabelle Kamp, Akron; Martha (William) Schultz, Marble Falls, Texas; Rose (Randy) Habegger, Marble Falls, Texas; Sue (Rafael) Quintanilla, Wabash; Judith Ann (Greg) Armstrong, Converse; brothers: Robert (Jane) Funk; Hugh (Rita) Funk. She was preceded in death by brothers: Harvey Funk; Arthur Funk; and an infant brother and sister.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Hartzler Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Thomas Craig. Burial will be in Athens Cemetery, Athens.
