Sanford ‘Sandy’ Kilmer
Sanford “Sandy” Kilmer, 89, Goshen, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Courtyard Healthcare. He had been in declining health since August.
He was born Feb. 8, 1926 in Foraker to Phillip W. and Ella (Kohli) Kilmer. On Oct. 24, 1948, he married Clara Schwartz in Nappanee.
She survives, along with two sons: Tim (Vanessa) Kilmer; and Phil Kilmer, both of Goshen; a daughter: Melody (Robert) Woodard, Fruitland Park, Fla.; a son-in-law: Tim Troutman, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Jo Ella Troutman; and four siblings: Anna Mabel Kilmer; Wilma Christophel; Marietta Bontrager; and Willard Kilmer.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Kilmer was a longtime member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. He owned and operated B and K Sales and Rental and was a past owner of Three Oaks Trailer Park.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, and again from 9-9:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18. Pastors Terry Diener and Matt Yoder will officiate. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen. Yoder Culp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to Clinton Frame Mennonite Church or Community Church of Waterford.
