Keith M. Dice, 86, of rural Fort Wayne, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at Ashton Creek in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Dice was born on Nov. 22, 1929, in Fort Wayne, a son of Howard and Jessie (Ott) Dice. He spent his formative years in Huntertown, and graduated from Huntertown High School in 1948. On June 21, 1957, he was married to Joyce E. Whitacre. He was employed as an Union Bricklayer, and retired in 1992.
Mr. Dice was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and was a farmer and enjoyed fishing. The family is comforted by knowing he is in with his Lord and Savior, and will be missed. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and living on his family’s farm. His spouse preceded him in death on Aug. 28, 2009.
The surviving relatives include two daughters: Karen (Lee) Sloffer, Churubusco; and Kathy (Mark) Wehrle, Fort Wayne; a son: Kevin (Dawn) Dice, Fort Wayne; two brothers: Paul (Georgean) Dice, Huntertown; and T. Eldon (Barbara) Dice, Fort Wayne; two sisters: Martha A. Doster, Fort Wayne; and Darlene Smith, Churubusco; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and daughter: Karla Dice.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Hiatt, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
