Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, North Kern Road, north of East Duffy Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Christopher Logenbaugh, 33, North Main Street, Syracuse, suffered minor bleeding to the head. Passenger: Curtis P. Longenbaugh, 33, North Main St., Syracuse, minor bleeding to the head. Both were airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Christopher Longenbaugh swerved to miss a deer, due to the driver’s door not properly latching he was thrown from the vehicle. The vehicle continued through a yard, hitting a chain link fence and continuing across a private driveway, hitting a second chain link fence and tree head on, owned by Elaine M. Spaulding. Curtis Longenbaugh was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated. Damage up to $25,000..
7:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, South CR 700W, south of South Beaver Dam Road, Mentone. Driver: Jeffrey A. Feldman, 47, West CR 800S, Claypool. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
9:58 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, East CR 900N, west of North CR 300E, Milford. Driver: Kajahnee J. Smith, 23, East Sumac Lane, North Webster. Deer hit vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:09 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, West CR 300N and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Charles D. Collins, 44, East North Street, Claypool, and Amanda L. Apple, 32, CR 25, New Paris. Collins’ vehicle struck the Apple vehicle as he attempted to change lanes. Damage up to $25,000.
1:54 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Delda M. Shelhart, 82, South Warbler Lane, Warsaw. Shelhart’s vehicle sideswiped a parked vehicle registered to Laura E. Robertson, West Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Damage up to $5,000.
10:34 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Lydia L. Fisher, 31, P.O. Box, Claypool. Fisher parked her vehicle in front of the main doors of Kosciusko Community Hospital, believing she secured the parking brake, before going inside. When she came out her vehicle had rolled down the hill and hit a parked vehicle registered to Susan E. Moss, Heather Court, Warsaw. Damage up to $2,500.
