Donnelly Supporting Veteran Mental Health Care
By JOE DONNELLY,
Indiana Senator
INDIANA — We owe it to our service members to help them access the best quality mental health care and to deliver that care in a way that meets their needs.
My bipartisan “Service member and Veteran Mental Health Care Package” is an important step in our fight against military suicide, and I am pleased to share the good news that provisions from the “Care Package” were recently signed into law as part of the national defense bill.
This legislation will improve the quality of mental health care provided to our servicemembers in communities across Indiana and throughout the country. In the video above, I discuss the “Care Package” and what the provisions will do to help our service members and veterans.
Continuing the fight against military and veteran suicide, we must do all we can to improve mental health care for the men and women who serve our country. Though our job is far from done, the “Care Package” is another important step in the right direction. I will continue fighting in the months ahead to improve care for our nation’s veterans.
