Tamula ‘Tammy’ D. Sauer
Tamula “Tammy” D. Sauer, 59, Bourbon, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, unexpectedly in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Tammy was born the daughter of Gerald and Jackie (Copeland) McIntyre on Sept. 17, 1956, at Warsaw. She has been a resident of Bourbon most all of her life except a short time in Texas. She was a 1975 graduate of Triton High School and attended Indiana University at Bloomington. She had worked at many of the automobile dealerships in the area in the service department area. But most of all was a homemaker and a mom.
One of the most enjoyable accomplishments of Tammy’s was she was the 1975 Triton Jr. Miss Queen. It has continued to be a huge success because Tammy has made it an important part of her life. She has been the director of the Jr. Miss program at Triton for the past several years until her passing. In earlier years she also helped to start the Little Miss Summerfest Pageant for the littler girls.
Tammy also enjoyed being the historian of the family. She did the genealogy and wrote journals of her life and of her family. She also enjoyed reading, music, writing, the Walton’s, Little House on the Prairie, her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband: Dean; four children: David (Robin) Sauer, Bourbon; Justin Staublin, South Bend; Brandy (Shawn) Hooley, Tippecanoe; and Jordan (fiancé Taylor) Sauer, Plymouth. She was further blessed with ten grandchildren: Siera; Haley; Madison; Nevaeh; Hanna; Kiersten; Aiden; Brayden; Quinn; and Kingston; two brothers: Timothy D. McIntyre, Fort Wayne; and Todd (Jami) McIntyre, Bourbon; and stepmother: Mary McIntyre, Bourbon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Zackery and step father Buck Jones.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, in the Bourbon First United Methodist, Bourbon. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, in the Church with Pastor Sam Ochstein officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
