NORTH WEBSTER — If you missed WNIT-TV Channel 34’s Sept. 21 episode of Our Town featuring North Webster, you have a second chance to view it again. The North Webster Library will host a public showing of the program at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15. The WNIT-TV Our Town program series highlights local communities throughout the Michiana area. On Sept. 21, the program focused on North Webster. The segment was videotaped by local residents telling the story of their community. So if you missed the original airing, you can see it next week at the library and feel proud of our community.
As 2015 draws to an end, Lose It at The Library has reached its collective goals. Those who have participated in this weekly weight loss support program lost a total of 350 pounds and walked a combined 1,935 miles. In addition, members lowered their cholesterol numbers, A1C, and blood pressures and avoided or reduced their need for insulin and other medications through healthy lifestyle and dietary changes. Although Lose It at The Library will no longer be meeting weekly, members are welcome to stop by the library on the first Monday each month between 5-5:30 p.m. for monthly weigh-ins.
Friday, Dec. 11, is Statehood Day commemorating the day Indiana became the 19th state to join the union. The library is proud to take part in celebrating Indiana’s past and the history of our local community by participating in the Bicentennial Legacy Project.
