Rentschler Announces Intentions To Seek Whitley County Circuit Court Judge Seat
WHITLEY COUNTY — Whitley County Prosecutor Matthew Rentschler announced his intentions today, Dec. 1, to seek the office of Whitley County Circuit Court Judge.
“In light of Judge (James R.) Heuer’s announcement that he will not be seeking re-election, it is my intention to run for the office of Whitley County Circuit Court Judge,” said Rentschler.
Rentschler is serving his fourth term as Whitley County Persecuting Attorney.“I have been entrusted over the last twenty years with representing the people of the state of Indiana in front of Judge Heuer, Judge (Michael D) Rush, and Judge (Douglas M.) Fahl,” said Rentschler, “and I will strive to follow the excellent example that those judges have set. I bring to the Court a lengthy record of tough but fair law enforcement. I am proud to have spearheaded anticrime efforts for our community since first being elected as Prosecutor.”
Rentschler is a lifelong Whitley County resident and is married to Leslie Rentschler. They have three children. He is a member of the Columbia City Rotary Club and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University School of Law.
