Man Arrested Following Failure To Appear On Heroin Charges
WARSAW — A local man is behind bars following his failure to appear for six drug related charges.
Ingvar Korgogodsky, 529 E. Wildwood Drive, Warsaw, was arrested in March for two counts of dealing in a narcotic drug, a level 5 felony; one count of dealing in a narcotic drug more than 1 gram, a level 4 felony; three counts of possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony.
In March, Korogodsky, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a $10,000 surety bond following a string of arrests performed by Warsaw Drug Task Force officers.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor, Officer Paul Heaton of the Warsaw Police Department was notified a purchase of a half of a gram of heroin for $150 would take place between an individual and Brooke Thompson and her boyfriend, Korogodsky.
The purchase was to take place at the Oswego Mini Mart in Kosciusko County. During an undercover operation, officers recorded a conversation with a male subject who discussed a future purchase of heroin for $600. Officers could hear the male subject tell the individual in the conversation he had another $150 worth of heroin he could sell.
Police obtained two plastic bags filled with a brownish, powdery substance valued at $500. The undercover individual identified the man in the recording as Korogodsky.
On Feb. 28, officers were notified of another drug purchase set to take place with Korogodsky and Thompson. One gram was purchased from Korogodsky for $200 in the transaction, The undercover individual was asked to “buy out” Korogodsky and Thompson’s supply in order for the two to be able to make another run to purchase heroin. Two bags of heroin were obtained in the transaction.
Another transaction occurred on March 4, where police recorded a conversation between the individual and Korogodsky in which the individual purchased 1 gram of heroin for $200.
Following his arrest, Korogodsky was ordered to appear before the court on Aug. 3, for a pre-trial conference. However, the defendent failed to appear personally, as previously ordered by the court. Due to this, a warrant was issued by the clerk’s office on Aug. 3.
On Nov. 25, Korogodsky was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for dealing a narcotic 1-5 grams and criminal conversion. No bond and $268 cash fine were issued in his arrest.
